Teacher’s Incentives
1st incentive:  9 February2011 - prize giving and incentive for 2010 top performers
-    Jetje Japhet was present as a representative for Lombard as well as Nick Elliot from the previous sponsor, Heidel Eggs.
-    Dr Makukule was the guest speaker.
-    Two top teachers received Autotec Foundation T-shirts, caps, hampers, certificates, and R500 each.
-    Top learners were awarded certificates and medals.

Remade Recycling Campaign launch – 13 May 2011 at 8:30
-    Phindile represented Remade, visited and informed the learners about the recycling campaign.
-    The Department of Education was also present.
-    Louise Williamson facilitated the recycling campaign launch.
-    School visited Remade

Other environmental initiatives
-    Pyramid and vegetable gardens
-    Clay stove building

Meeting: 24 May 2011 at Casterbridge Hollow Hotel
-    Present: Lombard, Autotec Foundation, two HOD’s from Sakhile and Deputy Principal only.
-    The school principal had another commitment on that day.
-    Jeannine Ferreira cancelled the meeting.
-    This meeting must still take place.

2nd teacher incentive: 24th of May 2011
-    Teachers received Autotec Foundation T-shirts, caps and certificates as well as Lombard hamper consisting of a golf shirt, leather belt, woven hat and R500 cash.
-    Kids received a goody hamper from Lombard (pen, fruit & juice)
-    The next incentive will be held between 14 and 15 October2011

Colour Your Life – Talent Initiative
-    Launched at the school on the 25th of May 2011 at 10:30.
-    MPower FM did live broadcasts from the Thunder Truck.
-    Finals will on the 27th of August 2011 at Kabokweni Stadium.
-    Gala event will be on 14th October 2011.

Take a step for children – 11 June 2011 in Riverside Park
-    All schools sent 110 orphans to partake.
-    A day of fun: 10 km fun run, a fun walk, with World Record attempts.
-    Kids received: Donation of clothes, cans of baked beans, fruits, toilet paper, sweets, cold drinks, water and a light lunch.
-    Sponsors: Autotec Foundation, Coca Cola, McDonalds, Spar, J&M, MPower FM, Stay Easy Hotel, Standard Bank, Emnotweni Casino, Riverside mall, Buscor.

Repairs and maintenance 2010/2011
-    The school received a complete revamp from the department of Education.

Trip to Pine Lake Lodge:  25 June 2011
-    The Autotec Foundation rewarded R10 000 to the school for their excellent improvement and highest pass rate which included a fridge and a visit to Pine Lake Hotel for the teachers.

Toilet paper donation: 02 August 2011
-    Spar Lowveld donated toilet paper to all 10 of the Autotec Foundation schools.
-    Each school receives 8 bales of 48 toilet rolls in each per month.

Steiner Hygiene equipment donated: 13 June 2011
-    Steiner donated and installed equipment to the school for use in the toilets, toilet roll dispensers, soap dispensers and She-bins for the teachers and kids toilets have been equipped.
Other donations
-    Clothes for orphans.
-    Magazines and encyclopaedias.

WE NEED: art equipment – paint brushes (any size), paint, painting canvases, money for costumes, musical instruments and money.

Sakhile High School still needs the following:
•    Borehole pump – R15 530.65
Sakhile’s borehole pump needs to be fixed.
•    Boxing items – R4239.40 (all inclusive amount)
The school recently introduced boxing as part of their sports activities.
•    Fence – R10 000
The school needs proper fencing.
